After leaving Hell, L. enters Purgatory and finds it being consumed by shadows. Using the energy of her soul, she tries to fight off the darkness, but it may just be enough to shine the path and escape. You will take on the role of L. to save her from being consumed...lost...forgotten...
Purgatorio is a beautiful solo game inspired by Dante's journey in the Divine Comedy. In this game, you will manage L.'s soul's energy and try to light the forest up. Her energy is greatly limited, so you must figure out a way to recycle it as much as you need. The darkness will come, and it will reduce her energy to zero, so be quick...but clever.
During a turn, you will use up to two Energy cards and resolve the effect depending on the combination and placement of those cards; these effects are revealing and/or moving through Purgatory tiles, storing and restoring Energy (cards), and dealing with the Shadows (cards). Your objective is to reveal 18 tiles before you lose all your energy or lose 8 tiles to the shadows. The Shadow cards will be cycling in and out of your deck depleting your cards and the tiles.
